This course consist of 30 hours of online assignments and activities. Educators will receive 3.0 CEUs after the completion of this course. CEUs are issued by North Mississippi Education Consortium. We can deliver this course online or onsite**. The cost for the online delivery is $65.
Workshop Description:

Bullying! An issue that has far been overlooked even when guidelines are in place! What good are bullying prevention plans when not implemented correctly? Teachers, administrators, staff, students and family must be involved! How many incidents could have been avoided if the situation was handled better? Reflection on all practices always help to retool and refocus!

How does bullying affect student behavior? Research says that effects of bullying causes depression and anxiety, sadness, loneliness, and negative changes in eating and sleeping. It will crush student achievement! No one can afford to allow student academic progress to suffer. How well the prevention plan works depends on "you"! Does your school Bully Prevention plan work? How do you know? This workshop helps to strengthen your awareness of bullying. Teachers' either don't know or don't recognize bullying because they are overworked and overworked. Even if your school Bully Prevention plan is not working as expected, you can retool yourself to aid in strengthening it!

This workshop requires educators to implement new or improve current strategies for bully prevention. All teachers will participant in peer classroom observations for learning and improving current practices. You may need a colleague or administrator to complete some parts of this workshop.

This workshop includes activities for creating your own S.M.A.R.T. goals. Teachers are strongly encouraged to participate in this activity as part of workshop. Discussions and chats are available for all educators to further engage in this activity. We also provide a PLC tool for teachers to use in their school. The PLC and the S.M.A.R.T goal tool is available for use after the completion of this workshop.

Each workshop has teachers' workload information and activity. This discusses the need for balance of teacher workloads. It is meant for teacher encouragement and accountability. The workloads of teachers is something that can be addressed through consistent team collaboration. Team collaboration is strongly encouraged in all workshops.


The coursework involves reading assignments that aides in thoroughly understanding the learning objectives. Teachers are required to submit a lesson snippet of the learning objective. The workshop provides a peer observation activity to further ensure the learning objective is being used. It is the intent that all the activities, discussion and assessments help the educator achieve the needed outcome(s).

(1) List some ideas presented in these article and elaborate. (2) What current training does your district or school deploy? (3) Is Bully Prevention incorporated in your lessons plans (Bully Awareness)? (4) Do you think more training with Bully Prevention is needed in your school?

Exploring:
Student coaching
(1) Describe how "Student Coaching" looks in your classroom or school? (2) Please describe some challenges or successes of implementation?


UNIT/WEEK3
Exploring:
Implementation Tools
(1) Besides activities that can be used in the classroom or school wide, What other long term implementation tools does your school use? This can include surveys, assessments or observation tools. (2) How do most of your students respond? (3) Please share some experiences with your school Bully Prevention program.


UNIT/WEEK4
Exploring:
Students who are bullied
Please share experiences that you have had with students that are bullied. Have you ever collaborated with the school counselor when bulling is an issue? How do you interact with parents when bullying happens(any point view)?

    To make sure your goals are clear and reachable, each one should be:
  • Specific (simple, sensible, significant)
  • Measurable (meaningful, motivating)
  • Achievable (agreed, attainable)
  • Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based)
  • Time bound (time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive)
